Google and Writley

Om Malik's blog is reporting that Google has purchased writley, a nice web app I came across several months ago. It's basiclly a simple word processor, but it's done online, and you can collaborate with anybody else. Similar to a wiki, but with different functionality. A similar product, writeboard, is even more basic, can be found over at 37signals.

Interesting write up and speculation in the article as well...

hi, I will introduce myself. I am in the dental hygiene program with Maria's sister, therefore I always visit her incredible blog. Just recently my mom loaned me a book that I could not stop laughing at. When I looked to see who the author was it just so happened to be Matthew Buckley. Suddenly my mind went to Maria's blog and how I had seen a matthew buckley post on her site before. I figure you must be the same person. If in fact you are, I think you know my brother. My mom said that you and my brother were in the same ward. Do you know a brother Frost? I will keep the first name annonymous in case you have no idea what or who I'm talking about. Hahahah, anwyay, I love your book, I'm trying to study for my dental hygiene boards but i always find myself picking up your book to read instead. I grew up in a family of 4 older brothers so I can relate to pretty much everything you write about. I actually laughed so hard I was crying which I've heard happens to some people, but I have never actually experienced myself. Anyway, let me know if this is really the matthew buckley I'm thinking of.
